In January of last year I asked the lovely readers of Adjusting the Dial to request a song that would help cheer them up, or keep them in a good mood if they were already there. This was inspired by a post from Jeff Tweedy on his Substack, Starship Casual. Thank you, Jeff.
From the request line I chose I’ll Be There by The Jackson 5.
I’d like to do this again. Anything you’d like to hear me play/cover? The floor is yours. Leave a comment with whatever it is you’d like to hear from me.
And now, may I present to you a picture of New Year bliss.
Spotting the golden lab outside, the barista asked if I wanted a puppuccino. Having no idea what it was I was intrigued. “Yes, I’d love one.”
But her offer was conditional: we must present it to the lucky recipient by the window so the staff could watch him enjoy it.
“Done.”
I wish you as much happiness for this year ahead as a puppuccino brings Archie…which is to say, a lot!
I look forward to digging through your requests.
Hi Dave. I hope I'm not too late. Your Dad and I have been listening to Shania Twain. Her song "You're Still the One" is a favorite and a beautiful and very touching song. It was recently covered by Boy Genius. I can imagine the magic you could bring to this one. Love Kari
Hi David: My request is “Lost on You” by LP! I believe you would sing a fabulous rendition of this! Marion and I went to see her in concert in Seattle! Happy NewYear to you and Lauren and all best wishes - Jan McQueen
