Three clicks to the left...two to the right…perfect…no, not perfect…half a click back to the left and…holy mother of…does this thing toggle up and down too?!

“Adjusting the Dial” is a good image for that the space between the definitive settings where my creativity tends to bloom—the intervening decimal points; the micro-tones; radio static on the edge of clarity. That space where both my thoughts and feelings aren’t necessarily congruent with one another, or with the way I previously thought/felt the world to be.

A space to explore the discord; a space to reset; a space to exercise empathy and objectivity by writing and re-writing my way out of judgement, insecurity and the daily refill of hooey. A space to find humour in the absurdity.

I’d like to connect with you in sharing some of this work—weekly ruminations, fragments of poetry, music, other people’s art that is awakening some dormant part of me, and musings on whatever subject happens to rattle itself out of my brain and onto the page. I also plan to share some of the short stories I have been working on. More on all this below. 👇

I will send something your way each Saturday.

I look forward to sharing and hearing from you. I hope this time together feels connective, warm in spirit, and fun.

More to come…

love,
David

A note on the Paywall

If you have the means and find what you see here valuable, I encourage you to support.

Much of what I post here will be free and open to the public, but some (no exact number in mind) will be behind the paywall. I will very much appreciate you joining me there, and I will continue to work joyfully in making it a space that I hope is worthy of our time together.

If you sign up as a “Founding Member,” a.k.a. the “Deluxe Edition” (the one that comes in the gold-leafed hardback case and plays a recorded message of your name in three different languages when you open it) you can expect a small box of additional perks to be sent your way during the year.
